I think people take a lot for granted. Honestly, I took a lot for granted just in the last few months of being with Daniel. We saw each other like nearly everyday. I practically lived at his old place with his roommates. I cleaned their dishes, folded their laundry, cleaned the house here and there, etc etc. Now that he moved back to Carson, we don’t see each other as much anymore. Not going to lie, it’s hard. It’s like a long distance relationship except not that long of a distance. But on days where I do miss him a little more than usual, I remind myself that there are other couples out there who have it harder than we do; the ones who live across the state or country from each other or worse, the ones who live across seas. I could only imagine how difficult it is to live day by day with your potential soul mate across seas, fighting the war for us, not knowing how they’re doing or if they’re even alive.
So I guess the moral of this story is to cherish every moment you have with the people you love, even if it’s just 3 seconds. Don’t complain about how you didn’t get to see each other for that long, cherish the fact that you actually get to see each other.
