Love in a Nutshell

After a drink that consisted of peppermint schnapps and some bonding time with my sibb, Michael, I have come to a sudden and important realization. I have come up with the true meaning of love…to me.

I’ve come up with many epiphanies when it comes to love but I think this one just sums it all up. So here goes….

When you fall in love, you have to love them with all you have even knowing you could be their first, but not their last. Knowing and accepting this is the biggest sacrifice.

It’s a wonderful feeling to know that you love someone who also loves you back and a lot of people get lost in that thought. They tend to forget that there are other people out there, other opportunities. It is true that you could be their first but definitely not their last. It saddens me knowing that I love my boyfriend dearly but at the same time, I have to remember that anything can happen and things can change. I do love him with all I got but it hurts me to know that though I’m his first, I won’t be his last. But it’s something I have to accept. We grow and learn from the experiences we go through in life. With love, you share your experiences with others who are willing to learn and vice versa. Love requires acceptance even if it hurts….it just depends on how much of that pain you can withstand….
